Website guidance
Website material is general information. It does not replace property-specific, engineering, surveying, planning, building-control, legal, insurance or other professional advice.
Build Ready
Build Ready provides an early project-readiness guide only. Results are based on the answers selected and do not determine whether planning permission, building-control approval or any other consent is legally required. Users remain responsible for confirming requirements with the relevant authority or a suitably qualified professional.
Agreed scope
Paid work is limited to the tasks agreed in writing. Estimates and reports should state the service, assumptions, exclusions, access requirements, labour basis, parts and payment terms.
Diagnostics and hidden conditions
Diagnostic attendance is chargeable even where a fault cannot be repaired immediately or specialist work is recommended. Estimates may change where hidden defects, corrosion, inaccessible components, unsafe conditions or previous poor workmanship are discovered.
Properly/Marine boundaries
Unless expressly and lawfully agreed, Properly/Marine excludes engine and propulsion repairs, LPG work, major structural work, standing rigging, formal surveys and work requiring specialist certification. Appropriate referrals may be suggested without guaranteeing a third party's work.
Parts, access and safety
Deposits may be required before parts are ordered. The customer must provide safe and lawful access. Work may be stopped where conditions are unsafe, outside the agreed scope or likely to cause damage without further investigation.
Payment
Rates, minimum charges, travel, parking, materials, disposal, emergency attendance and payment timing should be confirmed in the estimate or job authorisation.
